Nearmap needed a new marketing website following a brand refresh, plus a component library built to scale. I was lead frontend engineer, working with two other engineers and collaborating directly with the design team. We translated their design specs into a custom component library. When interactions weren't working as intended, I'd jump into code and prototype alternatives until we landed on something that felt right.
Shipped the website on schedule. The component library is still in use across Nearmap dev team today. Working this closely with the design team changed how I think about the handoff in that I stopped just building specs and started understanding the intent behind them. That's what let me catch issues early and prototype fixes instead of waiting on new mockups.
